ABOUT US
Colorado West Pride has been part of the Grand Valley long enough to become a fixture of it. We put on Pride on the Western Slope, the regional weekend the community organizes around, and we've kept doing it through real hostility.
We're rooted where you actually live: Mesa County, the rivers, the parks, the high desert light. In a place where a lot of queer life has had to happen quietly or somewhere else, we claim this ground openly. The welcome is for anyone who got here, however they got here.

COLORADO WEST PRIDE
Colorado West Pride was founded in 2012. We rebuilt the organization from the ground up in 2026 year: new board, new structure, tighter books. Same values, new engine. We say that plainly because the point of rebuilding was so people could count on us, and you can't count on an organization that isn't straight with you.
PRIDE HISTORY
Pride began with the Stonewall uprising in New York in June 1969, when patrons of a gay bar pushed back against a police raid and turned a routine night of harassment into days of resistance in the streets of Greenwich Village.
The first marches came a year later, on the anniversary of that night. They were protests before they were parades, and that's the thread every Pride still traces back to, including this one.
