MISSION
Colorado West Pride puts on Pride for the Western Slope, a regional celebration rooted in the Grand Valley where LGBTQIA+ people can gather openly in the places they already live. We do this because queer life here has too often had to stay quiet, and a community needs somewhere to be seen and counted. By holding this ground year after year, and by connecting people to each other and to the partners who can help them, we give the valley an organization it knows to look for and can count on.
VISION
A Western Slope where every LGBTQIA+ person can live openly and safely in the valley they call home, no matter where they are or how they got here. We see a Grand Valley where queer life doesn't have to stay quiet or happen somewhere else, where Pride is a fixture nobody questions, and where the people too often pushed to the edges stand at the center of the community. We're building toward a valley that holds its queer neighbors with acceptance instead of fear, and an organization steady enough to be here for every generation that comes
RUN BY NEIGHBORS
The board is a group of people who live and work in the Grand Valley. Nobody here is paid, and nobody outside the valley tells us what to do.
We've been at this since 2012, weathered some real hostility, and rebuilt the organization from the ground up rather than fold. Same family, new engine.
