KARLEE POOL (SHE/HER)

COMMUNICATIONS AND SPONSORSHIPS

Karlee joined CWP because she saw a need for more voices and participation in our community, and would like to be one of those voices contributing to a new chapter of Colorado West Pride. Her goal is to build upon what we have here and strengthen our connections with each and every person who has allowed our Pride celebration to continue, no matter the level of involvement. She wants to build a new generation of people who have passion and drive to nurture the organization and help it flourish for many years to come.

Karlee has been working in volunteer positions for the LGBTQ community since she was 14 years old. She was volunteering with Western Colorado AIDS Project when she attended her first Pride festival in 2014, and her time volunteering made a deep impact on her worldview. As a child, nearly all of the important adults in her life had an LGBTQ+ identity. She would not be who she is today without them and their commitment to positively influencing my path. The way she honors those in her life, both living and passed on, is to dedicate her time and passion to continuing that gift given to her. She strives to live as someone who is always learning, growing, meeting new people, and trying something new.

Karlee has lived here for 23 years! Her family has been on the Western Slope since 1910 (ish?).
